Blog template changes, unique article wizard and a go at affiliate marketing!

Hello everyone! I did mention a couple of blog posts back that I was trying out some sort of experiment, and unfortunately, it didn't have much success. Still, it was fun and I learned a thing or two about monetizing blogs and all. Firstly I thought that one of the reasons that might be scaring away people from my blog was the logo I had made for my blog, the skull for Skull Trail! So, by putting up a simple blogger template instead of the one I had modified, things certainly did not improve, nor did they worsen. People had no negative or positive reaction to the changes in the blog so I guess in a couple of days or so I will put the template back up! The second experiment I did was to try out unique articles wizard. The cool thing about it is that you can receive articles in your mailbox everyday on the topics you choose. I was pretty excited to try this out. I set up multiple blogs on different topics from unique article wizard. I also set up adsense on my newly created blogs and hoped to get tons of traffic in a week or so and make some $$$! The automatic posting to blogger was really neat but on the downside, the thing I didn't realize was that, thousands of other bloggers who probably used the Unique Articles Wizard before me, probably have exactly the same articles on their blogs. What this did was that after a couple of days on the Google Search engine, all the entries for these blogs was removed! =( So the experiment was a failure, but I did learn that unique content should be posted on these automated blogs so that the search engines don't think that they are automated and don't remove them from the search results.

Apart from all this, I kind of developed an interest in affiliate marketing on the internet. Being a student, making some pocket money on the side is always an attractive idea. I usually put a lot of time in my efforts but mostly, my efforts haven't worked out for me. Maybe I am not consistent or maybe I try too many things at the same time, yeah so, Affiliate Marketing will be the latest thing I will be trying out! I hope it reaps rewards better than what my previous efforts have brought me. Cheers!
