Ubisoft have finally released the PC requirements for Assassin's Creed, and they're ludicrously high: dual core CPU, 2GB of RAM and a SM3.0 graphics card are the MINIMUM. They even suggest that 3GB of RAM is recommended! More details in the news story.By the way its just crazy how high system requirements are going for most games out there. Its really pissing me off actually. I remember back in 1998 when I got my first 3D card, which was a Riva TnT, it could run any game out there for a good 3 years without any problems...and I used to have a mediocre Pentium II with just 64mb of RAM. Yes yes I know its kinda low but hell it used to run games like Kingpin, Carmageddon 2 (which I still play sometimes), Quake 2 and 3, Need for Speed High Stakes, Command and Conquer Red Alert 2 and a lot of other kickass games of that time. Now we have system requirements jumping like crazy every six months. I remember, just a year and a half back, hardly any game required you to have a 64 bit processor...games rarely required an AMD Athlon FX 2500+ as their MAX requirement. Now just compare that with Assasin's Creed and Crysis, the difference is striking and downright scary. I don't know what the next six months is going to bring us with games like Farcry 2 and Tiberium Wars hitting the shelves.
